Historically, cybersecurity departments have been perceived as cautious, restrictive, and restrained–the true definition of a department of ‘no.’ But over time, they have evolved into a business collaborator, with the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating that change and providing security teams with the opportunity to be business enablers.

“The pandemic forced security leaders to question some long-held security tenants,” said Poornima DeBolle, co-founder and chief product officer at Menlo Security. “It made them come up with solutions that protect their enterprise, but at the same time create a productive working environment.”
