How SASE is turning security into a business collaborator
Historically, cybersecurity departments have been perceived as cautious, restrictive, and restrained–the true definition of a department of ‘no.’ But over time, they have evolved into a business collaborator, with the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating that change and providing security teams with the opportunity to be business enablers.
With a distributed workforce that demands anywhere, anytime access, security leaders have had to evolve their thinking and move away from legacy approaches to cybersecurity that stifle productivity and impede business progress.
“The pandemic forced security leaders to question some long-held security tenants,” said Poornima DeBolle, co-founder and chief product officer at Menlo Security. “It made them come up with solutions that protect their enterprise, but at the same time create a productive working environment.”
During a recent discussion with Mauricio Sanchez, research director at Dell’Oro Group, DeBolle describes how many organizations are looking to the secure access service edge (SASE) architecture to secure modern work and how it’s helping security departments cement their place as business collaborators.
