Is SASE the answer to enterprise security challenges?
The enterprise work environment has forever shifted to a cloud-based model that provides the modern distributed workforce with unfettered access to the digital assets and applications they need to accelerate the business. This evolution has resulted in cybersecurity leaders questioning their long-held approaches that historically served as an impediment to business progress.
As these remote and hybrid work models have quickly become the norm and mass migration of applications workloads to the cloud accelerate, many organizations are turning to the secure access service edge (SASE) approach as an answer.
But given the hype and attention this next-generation architecture is receiving, many are asking themselves, “Is this the answer to the enterprise security challenges of today?” According to Poornima DeBolle, co-founder and chief product officer at Menlo Security, enterprises should take the opportunity to explore it.
“[It’s their chance to] evaluate their security and productivity stack,” she says. “It’s important to consider the security outcomes when you’re considering SASE.”
During a recent discussion with Mauricio Sanchez, research director at Dell’Oro Group, DeBolle discussed the unique opportunity that SASE presents enterprises looking to protect productivity.
